I brought my Ps3 for GoW3 and MGS4. At first i didn't really "get" LBP when it was announced. The more i saw footage the better it looked. Then i was in the beta and it wowed me. I brought the game last week and i've been having a fantastic time with it. I would hardly call it mediocre at all. Probably the 2nd best game i've play this generation so far.
As for Killzone 2 being mediocre you could wait until a demo of the game comes out so you can definitively say that. ...
Name me 3 fps's that does more than just "shoot enemy" gameplay wise. Not including Mirrors Edge and Portal because i don't even consider them fps's.
Did anyone catch this little trophy name here "Safari Hunter". That one particularly peaks my interest.
A pretty good score. Can't wait for the game to finally release.
I think i need to change my pants. The speed seems like it's been UPPED a sh*t ton since the beginning and recent arcade iterations. Seems almost on par with SF3's speed which i absolutely love. Only thing i dislike is that they are using the SF2 stances for everything instead of the SF3 stance.
My personal top list of games this gen i played is much shorter since only 5 i feel deserve should be on the list.
1: Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
2: Little Big Planet
3: Portal
4: Metal Gear Solid 4
5: Grand Theft Auto 4
I loved the hell out of MGS4's story but the gameplay didn't deliver for me. I was expecting something much deeper since MGS3's survivalist mechanic was great. Not to mention that the overall feel of MGS4 feels more like a 3rd p...
I must be the only one here who doesn't like the new ads. I just think they're not very memorable. Maybe it's the music. I do like the last video which is the weirdest of the bunch. I particularly like the one with the kid and Ratchet and Clank.
It was part of the design choice not to have much emphasis on combat. She's a "runner" not really a fighter. There was a interesting article about Mirrors Edge on Gamasutra.
Definitely. I can't wait until i can get my platinum trophy in MGS4. I know Kojima will probably come up with some wacky trophies like "distract 50 enemies with a magazine".
Fun is a subjective, by case thing though. Something that might be fun to me might not be fun to you. I personally find accounting boring but i know people who absolutely LOVE it as their job.
Well played Sony.
I actually loved the demo. It was both fun and unique. The rush you get when you get everything flowing well is great. The action i didn't really care for based off the demo but then again that's not what i was interested in the game to begin with. It reminds me of portal in way. Minimal combat with heavy emphasis on platforming/puzzle solving. I definitely got the feeling of it being a unique experience.
I agree with you MK. I have LBP (my personal game of the year) and i'm definitely plan on getting Mirrors Edge and the revamped Prince of Persia when it comes out. Seems like if it isn't a shooter or have some type of "brand name" then the game will have a hard time selling. That's a real shame.
Region-free for games but for movies it's still have that segmented region lock thing.
I'll definitely end up getting it.
Sounds a bit dumbed down from 3 but i'm sure there's still technical stuff in the game that hasn't been discussed much. Focus sounds like a more newbie-friendly version of Parry. I wonder if taunts still have special stat increases.
Also i love how they added that one of the pros was the "new interesting characters" after they harped on the "weirdo's" from SF3. The fat guy (rufus) is just as weird as Hugo was.
Like i said before. TF2 classes meets CoD4 customizing meshed together with KZ2's personal style.
I'm expecting 18 hours from Infamous seeing as it's open world. Though i usually get long legs out of my games since i fool around in them a bit.
Never had this happen to me. I usually go to circuit city or GameStop and the clerks usually know right away what i'm talking about and don't try to sell me on 360 games. Though one time when i preordered MGS4 the gamestop clerk put Gears of War in the bag with the preorder case.
I'm probably one of the few people here that doesn't care about graphics and especially for a game the caliber of GoW3 or MGS4. I care MUCH more about gameplay... Just thinking about the new type of stuff they can do in the new GoW and the new environments is enough to make me swoon (yes i just used the word "swoon").
